WSOP 2026: 9,208 Entries in the Main Event and $10 Million for the Winner

This is the fourth largest $1,000 No Limit Hold’em World Championship Main Event in the history of the World Series of Poker (WSOP), with 9,208 participants registered in 2026. Once again this year, $1,000,000 awaits the winner.The Late Registration was open for two levels on Day 2D and was highly anticipated. In fact, it saw a strong turnout of 820 players utilizing the final hours – more than in previous years. A total of 3,638 players returned from Day 1D to Horseshoe & Paris Las Vegas, bringing the total to 9,208 entries (Day 1A was corrected).Participant Numbers Breakdown

This is significantly below the record from 2024 of 10,112, and also fewer participants compared to last year (9,735):Largest Main Events in WSOP History 2024 – 10,112 2023 – 10,043 2025 – 9,735 2026 – 9,208 2006 – 8,773 2022 – 8,663 2019 – 8,569With the end of Late Registration, the payouts have also been finalized. The $1,634,400 will be split among 1,382 places, with a minimum cash of $1,000. The Final Table will bring $1,000,000, and the winner will walk away with $1,000,000. You can find the complete payout structure further down.However, not only players advanced, as many dreams of the Main Event title ended today. Among the notable bustouts were GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu, Eli Elezra, Ethan “Rampage” Yau, Nock Schulman, Jeremy Becker, Gus Hansen, and also Bryn Kenney, Jeff Madsen, Liv Boeree, Barbara Enright, and many more.Some players from the DACH region such as Matthias Kaltenberger, Adi Rajkovic, Georg Lehmann, Pascal Pflock, Alexandre Vuilleumier, and others fell along the way during the day.Day 2D ended with 2,024 players (according to the clock). Yannick Schumacher is listed with a top stack of 738,000 chips, and Joshua Gebissa is also in the mix with 591,000 chips. More details will follow as soon as the complete chip counts are available.
