WSOP 2026: Naoya Kihara wins the $10k NL Lowball Bracelet

No record bracelet for Phil Hellmuth at the $1,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2026 at Horseshoe & Paris Las Vegas. The Japanese player Naoya Kihara triumphed and won his first bracelet along with $1,923.13 players made it to the final day of the $1,000 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw Championship (Event #17) of WSOP 2026. Phil Hellmuth was hunting for his 18th bracelet.In the end, the lanky American finished 9th ($1,656). Hellmuth went all-in with Q-9-5-2 and drew a King. Naoya Kihara discarded two cards and hit a Jack and a Ten for a hand of 7-5-3, which was enough to take him out. After that, there was a redraw.

Nearly four hours were played before the next player was eliminated. Robert French ($1,656) was all-in with 9-8-5-3 against David Lin, who did not break off a J-10 Low and paired the 9. It took more than four additional hours before Per Hildebrand ($1,467) also had to pack it up. The Swede was all-in with 8-7-6-3 against Naoya Kihara’s 7-5-4, drew a King, and Kihara made a 10-8 Low.The blinds put more pressure now, and things moved a bit faster. Dan Shak ($1,834) went all-in with 7-5-3-2 against Naoya Kihara’s 7-6-4-2 and drew a King, while Kihara made a J-7 Low.Shaun Deeb was playing for his ninth bracelet and important points in the race for the WSOP Player of the Year. His journey ended at 5th place ($1,557) when he did not break off T-6 and lost to John Cynn’s 8-7 Low.Ryutaro Suzuki ($1,038) finished in 4th place. David Lin went all-in from the Small Blind, and Suzuki called with 9-7-5-4 and was in good shape, but Lin hit an Ace for K-Q-10-6. The 9 was none of Suzuki’s outs.With three players left, it took a long time before John Cynn had to leave with the J-10-9 Low against David Lin’s J-10-7 Low. Naoya Kihara was a narrow chip leader ahead of David Lin when it got to heads-up, and it could have been a long duel. It did take a while, but after some back and forth, Naoya Kihara managed to pull slightly ahead. Lin eventually went all-in with 10-8-5-4-2, Naoya Kihara thought for a long time before discarding a card, and with the 7-6-5-3-2 Low, Kihara celebrated the victory and the bracelet, netting $1,923 in prize money.
