WSOP 2026: Daniel Negreanu among the Big Stacks at the $10k NL Lowball Championship

Mark Michael
The $1,000 NL 2-7 Draw Lowball Championship of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2026 has kicked off. 136 players started the day, and Late Registration is still open on Day 2.60,000 Chips and 60-minute levels were available at the start, with ten levels completed. During this time, 136 participants were recorded, but only 58 remained at the end. The combination of an exotic variant and a high buy-in once again attracted a very prominent field, with Nick Schulman as the defending champion. He managed to make it through the day – albeit as one of the shorter stacks (86,500).Among those who did not make it were Eli Elezra, Darren Elias, Brian Rast, Mike Matusow, Erik Seidel, David “ODB” Baker, and several others; nevertheless, the chip count list for Day 2 looks promising. The leader among the 58 remaining players is Carlo van Ravenswoud with 319,000, followed by Daniel Negreanu and Chad Eveslage, each with 311,000, and lurking behind is Alex Foxen (299,000). Dennis Weiss is in 33rd place with 117,000. Philip Sternheimer is in 45th place with 79,500.Late Registration will remain open for another level on Day 2, and a few players will surely try their luck.
