This is the last festival at the Circus Casino Resort Namur before the highlight of the year, the Circus Poker Series (CPS). This week’s Oktoberfest features €250,000 in prize money; the buy-in for the Mystery Bounty tournament is €250 (including a €100 Mystery Bounty).
Casino Namur has already successfully hosted ten festivals this year and significantly exceeded the guarantee for each Main Event. Three festivals are still to come, and the first is the Oktoberfest this week. Last year, the buy-in for Oktoberfest was still higher at €350 (including a €125 bounty), and with 1,316 entries, the €250,000 prize pool guarantee was significantly exceeded. Swiss player Steve Cottet took home the victory and collected €32,000 in prize money as well as €3,900 in bounties.
This year, €250,000 is once again guaranteed, but the buy-in is lower at €250 (including a €100 bounty). The tournament will be played with 50,000 chips and 30-minute levels; there will be a total of eight flights through Friday. On Saturday, Day 2 will begin with 40-minute levels, and the final will take place this coming Sunday with 50-minute levels.
As always, it’s not just about the Main Event—there are also several side events. These include, for example, the €400 Monster Stack (€20,000 GTD/250k/30′) on Wednesday and Thursday and, of course, the €550 High Roller (€50,000 GTD/50k/30′) next weekend.
This officially kicks off the countdown to the Circus Poker Series from November 17–29, which guarantees a total of €2,000,000. You can already qualify for the CPS on PokerStars. As always, cash games start at €2.5/€2.5 NLH and €5/5 PLO. Details on the full (poker) lineup and the option to buy tickets can be found at circus-poker.com, where you’ll also find live coverage as usual—the password is “poker.”
