The World Poker Tour (WPT) is one of the largest tournament series, alongside the WSOP and the EPT. These prestigious festivals have been held since 2002. The company has changed hands several times; since 2021, it has been owned by Element Partners. The WPT also benefited greatly from the huge poker boom of the 2000s and quickly gained popularity, not least due to TV broadcasts. In recent years, however, the motto has been “less is more,” and instead of countless festivals, there are now significantly fewer—but these are given much greater prominence. In Europe, the Grand Casino Liechtenstein is among the partners; in 2023, a new record was set at the WPT Prime right at its premiere.
