Season 24 of the World Poker Tour (WPT) will also come to a close at the Wynn Las Vegas. From November 27 to December 21, the World Championship will feature more than 85 events and $20,000,000 in prize money.
December is shaping up to be another hot month this year. As always, the EPT is making a stop in Prague, the WSOP is making Caribbean dreams come true on Paradise Island, and the WPT is bringing the action to the Wynn Las Vegas. From November 27 to December 21, 85 tournaments and more than $20,000,000 in prize money await. The highlight events:
– $1,100 WPT Prime Championship (5,000,000 GTD) – December 5–12
– $300 Super Gold Million ($3,000,000 GTD) – December 10–14
– $10,400 WPT World Championship – December 13–20
The main events are, of course, NLH tournaments, but the side events also feature other variants. Before the WPT Prime Championship begins, the excitement is already building with the $600 NLH ($400,000 GTD), the $800 NLH ($1,000,000 GTD), and the $1,600 NLH ($1,000,000 GTD).
Once again this year, the ladies will be in the spotlight with a $1,100 Ladies Championship event ($250,000 GTD), and seniors will also take center stage with the $1,100 Seniors Championship event ($500,000 GTD). A $5,000 Seniors High Roller ($250,000 GTD) is also on the tournament schedule, as are various other high roller events, including the $25,800 High Roller.
The cash games will also feature a wide range of options, kicking off on December 1 with the $1/3 and $2/5 Meet-up Cash Games.
Last year, the $10k World Championship Event drew 1,865 entries, with winner Schuyler Thornton taking home $2,258,856. The $1k WPT Prime Championship also drew an impressive 9,876 entries, with winner Aaron Johnson taking home $1,010,400. Despite stiff competition, full tables are expected again this year at the Wynn for the season finale.
