Starting this year, the Irish Poker Open—the oldest No-Limit Texas Hold’em poker tournament series in Europe—has also been touring internationally. Following its first stop in Australia in September, the series will now make a stop at the Casino de Marrakech from November 10 to 15. However, from March 18 to 29, 2027, the Irish Poker Open will return to its roots. The original Irish Poker Open will be held in Dublin for the 48th time. In the Irish capital, the Royal Dublin Society will host more than 80 tournaments, over 50 trophies, and guaranteed prize pools totaling more than €4.5 million.
The date for the next Irish Poker Open is perfectly chosen. The festival will take place from March 18 to 29, 2027, at the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) in Dublin. The day before, on March 17, the Irish capital celebrates St. Patrick’s Day. Players from around the world could first attend the famous St. Patrick’s Day parade and then dive right into the poker schedule. Thus, the Irish Poker Open’s motto is “Every Day’s St. Paddy’s Day.”
The Main Event remains the series’ flagship event. With €2.5 million in guaranteed prize money, it is one of the highlights of the European poker spring season. The Mini Irish Open offers another million euros in guaranteed prize money, while the Luxon Pay Mystery Bounty adds additional bounty prizes to the classic tournament format. The bar is set high for the next edition. The 2026 Irish Poker Open featured 89 different tournaments and more than 32,000 entries. The total prize pool exceeded €15.5 million. The Main Event also set a record. A total of 5,003 entries created a prize pool of €4,852,910. The title was won by Romanian player Narcis Nedelcu, who secured prize money of €336,790.
The Irish Poker Open is organized in collaboration with international poker partners PokerStars and Paddy Power. The collaboration with these online platforms allows players from many countries to qualify for the major live tournaments at a low cost. According to the organizers, more than 1,600 players have already qualified for the Main Event through online satellites alone.
Starting this year, the Irish Poker Open has also become an international series. Following the first stop in Australia, the Irish Open Marrakech is scheduled to take place from November 10 to 15, 2026, at the Casino de Marrakech in Morocco. The organizers have also announced a first stop in the U.S. for 2027. Further details are to be announced.
More information is available on the Irish Poker Open website. The Satellites page provides more details on qualification options.
