WSOP 2026: Record Participation and Late Registration Madness at the $5k NLH 6-Handed

There were 1,402 entries in the $1,000 No Limit Hold’em 6-Handed Event of the World Series of Poker 2026 at Horseshoe & Paris Las Vegas. With 60 players remaining, Day 3 is set to begin. Daniel Rezaei is in a strong position, with Oliver Weis, Timo Kamphues, Erik Eisen, and Daniel Smiljkovic still in the game.The Late Registration was open on Day 2 and caused quite a chaos. Over 100 players took advantage of the Max Late Reg, leading to a redraw with more than 500 players. After the wandering day ended, the numbers were clear – 1,402 entries set a new record, with $1,449,200 distributed across the top 212 places.The min cash was $1,971, and unfortunately, that was all Leonard Herrmann (155), Mohamad El Rais (154), Quirin Heinz (145), and Hannes Jeaschka (132) could collect. Sigi Friedl missed the Top 100 with a finish of 115th ($1,531), and Didi Fast was eliminated just before the end of Day 2 (76th/$1,390).The field was tough, and many big names made it to the 60 remaining players for Day 3. Roeland Peeks leads with 3,350,000 chips, while Daniel Rezaei is the best of the DACHS in 11th place with 1,760,000 chips. Oliver Weis has 1,545,000, Timo Kamphues returns with 860k, and Erik Eisen (309k) and Daniel Smiljkovic (245k) are among the short stacks.All players are guaranteed $1,795, and the winner can look forward to a hefty $1,655 + Bracelet.
