WSOP 2026: Christopher Nguyen leads in the final of the $100k High Roller

Christopher Nguyen is the chip leader among the last nine players in the $1,000 High Roller No Limit Hold’em (#36) of the World Series of Poker 2026 at Horseshoe & Paris Las Vegas, with hopes of the winner’s prize of $1,841,432.Late registration was still open on Day 2 for this event, and the number of entrants almost doubled. A total of 115 entries were recorded, resulting in a pot of $1,040,000. The first goal was the 18 paid spots, which secured a min-cash of $1,754.It was not a good run for the DACH players, with Manuel Fritz, Bernhard Binder, Daniel Rezaei, Samuel Mullur, Klemens Roiter, Matthias Eibinger, Thomas Mühlöcker, and Hannes Jeschka all going home empty-handed. Santosh Suvarna, Galen Hall, Kristen Foxen, Phil Ivey, Adrian Mateos, Ben Heath, Jason Koon, Mikita Badziakouski, Stephen Chidwick, Sergio Aido, and GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu also had to settle for no cash.The unfortunate player of the tournament was Artur Martirosian. Just before the bubble, Christopher Nguyen cracked Martirosian’s pocket Aces with , with the board showing . While Christopher joined the top ranks, Artur Martirosian was left short. In fact, Artur found himself on the stone bubble with facing off against of Teun Mulder. The board brought Teun a straight, and Artur went out as the bubble boy.Christopher Nguyen was the last remaining German-speaking player to make it into the money, and he made it through the day as the chip leader. With 17,200,000 chips, he has a comfortable lead over the tough competition, with Alex Foxen being the short stack. Close behind are Yuri Dzivielevski, Alex Theologis, Teun Mulder, Alex Kulev, Martin Kabrhel, Biao Ding, and Sam Soverel, all well-known players.The nine players have already secured $1,491, with the winner taking home $1,841,432. Second place ($1,894,282) and third place ($1,326,537) also have seven-figure payouts.
