With 5,131 entries and €4,059,522 in prize money, the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Circuit Slovakia at the Card Casino Samorin near Bratislava posted impressive results.
This was the second time the WSOP Circuit was hosted at the Card Casino, and the event saw a significant increase in participation compared to 2025—even though the PLO High Roller tournament did not take place. Right from the start, the €350 Mini Main Event drew packed tables. Last year, the event easily surpassed the guarantee with 1,164 entries, but this year there were 1,709 entries, and a whopping €519,536 was up for grabs. Hungarian player Peter Tordai claimed one of the three gold rings for Hungary and took home €85,000, the third-highest prize in the series.
The second gold ring for Hungary went to Antonio Karman. A regular at the Slovakian tables, he prevailed in the €550 Mystery Bounty; here, too, the €200,000 guarantee was clearly exceeded with 658 entries. The third ring for Hungary went to Laszlo Molnar, who prevailed in the series’ most expensive tournament, the €3,500 High Roller, with 59 entries.
While the €550 PLO Opener easily surpassed the €150,000 guarantee, the €1,800 PLO Championship and the €3,500 PLO High Roller fell short. The Championship Event fell short of the €500,000 prize pool guarantee, and the High Roller couldn’t get off the ground—though that was also partly due to the lucrative Main Event. The €1,500 WSOPC Main Event set a new WSOPC Europe record. With 1,160 entries, the tournament became the largest €1,500 WSOPC Main Event in Europe to date; instead of €1,000,000, the prize pool totaled €1,487,120. The victory went to Romanian Alexandru Popa, who walked away with €235,000.W
Anyone who missed this record-breaking event will have another chance to chase the gold rings from February 5–15, 2027.
Until then, there will be plenty of poker action, with the premiere of the Battle of Malta Slovakia Edition set to make waves from September 7 to 14. Cash games run daily starting at €1/3 NLH and €2/2 PLO. You can find all the details on the full lineup at cardcasino.sk.
