With a total of 5,368 entries, the prize pool for the €530 + 70 Battle of Malta Main Event stands at €2,413,281, easily surpassing the $1.5 million guarantee. A prize of €227,835 awaits the winner. Yesterday, the field was whittled down from 158 players to 24 on Day 3. Anton Makejev secured the largest stack after pulling off a significant “double-up” against Stefano Gianas late at night. Close behind is Marios Kapiris, who also benefited from a “double-up” late in the day when he was paid off with “two pair” in the final level of the evening. Jakub Skurzynski rounds out the top three.
The remaining players include, among others, Alessandro De Michele, Emmanouil Chalkiotis, and Lulei Hu. The most experienced player in the field is Jon Kyte, who has already won more than $3.9 million in live tournaments. However, he is currently in 23rd place and has fewer than 10 big blinds. The defending champion of the 2025 BoM Autumn Main Event, Candido Cappiello, was still in the running on Day 3 but was eliminated in 71st place
