King’s Casino Prague: Martin Staszko wins the €200 CPT Main Event

The Ceska Pokerova Tour (CPT) has been holding tournaments throughout the Czech Republic since January 2008. The CPT is also a regular guest at King’s Casino Prague. This past weekend, the Czech poker tour was once again a guest at King’s. All eyes were on the €200 Main Event, which featured a guaranteed prize pool of €40,000. Martin Staszko secured the victory, taking home €7,812.

The Main Event was held in three flights. It kicked off on Friday, October 30, with Speed Flight 1A. Of the 56 entries, nine remained at the end. Day 1B followed on Saturday with 84 entries and 12 survivors. On Sunday, a Turbo Flight offered the final chance to qualify. This added another 24 participants and 11 re-entries. Fourteen of them made it to Day 2, which began at 4:00 p.m.

In the end, 175 entries (104 participants and 71 re-entries) created a prize pool of €33,600. Prizes were awarded to the top 23 finishers. In the heads-up match, local hero Martin Staszko prevailed over Russia’s Sergey Pogodin. First place received prize money of €7,812.
