King’s WSOP Super Circuit: Martin Sladek Takes Home the Monster Stack PLO Ring

With a Czech heads-up showdown and the gold ring going to Martin Sladek, the €1,500 Monster Stack PLO (€100,000 GTD) at the WSOP Super Circuit at King’s Resort Rozvadov came to a close yesterday, October 30. Martin Sladek prevailed over Zdenek Zizka and took home €30,765.

The €1,500 Monster Stack PLO began with 50,000 chips and 30-minute levels; with 83 entries, the guarantee was surpassed. After deducting the 13% rake, €108,315 was in the prize pool, with the top 13 places paid out. €30,765 awaited the winner, and €3,030 was the minimum cash prize. German-speaking players were once again well-represented, but in the end, Fabio Franchini (5th/€6,820) and Florian Surkamp (4th/€9,310) fell just short of the podium.

The heads-up match was an all-Czech affair. Backgammon pro Zdenek Zizka has been eagerly collecting trophies in the poker world as well; he already has one bracelet and two gold rings. This time, however, he had to settle for second place and €19,780, while Martin Sladek claimed the victory and €30,765.

Today, the spotlight is on the final two flights of the €1,000 Mini Main Event (€1,000,000 GTD/50k/30′), and there’s a massive Value Alert. PLO enthusiasts can look forward to the €5,000 High Roller PLO (50k/45′) today, and there are also several satellites. As always, cash games start with blinds of €1/2 NLH and €2/2 PLO.
