An incident involving Sammy Farha reportedly occurred at the Houston Social Card Room. The poker pro is alleged to have assaulted a dealer.
According to Jon Sofen of Poker News, Sammy Farha has been banned from the Houston Social Card Room following an alleged confrontation with a dealer.
According to witness accounts, the three-time bracelet winner was playing a $1/$3/$6 PLO game in the early hours of Wednesday morning when two other players moved all-in.
After the showdown, the dealer pushed the pot to the winner. Farha, who was not involved in the hand, accused the dealer of retrieving the losing player’s cards from the muck.
One of the players involved reportedly tried to resolve the situation, but Farha allegedly became angry and verbally abused the dealer. Security was called, but Farha apparently managed to punch the dealer in the chest.
The 67-year-old has a poor reputation within the poker community regarding his treatment of dealers. The dealer involved says he has reported the incident to the police.
