PokerStars will kick off the new season even earlier with the PokerStars Open Campione 2027. From January 8 to 17, play will resume on Lake Lugano—with a new buy-in of €1,250.
Shortly after PokerStars took over the poker room at Casino Campione in 2025, the PokerStars Open celebrated a massive debut. A whopping 2,423 entries flooded the tables in March 2025 and shattered the €1,000,000 prize pool guarantee. €2,326,080 ended up in the pot, with Adrian-Sorel State claiming victory and €363,000. The second edition at the end of January 2026 was smaller, with 1,582 entries, but the million-euro guarantee was once again clearly exceeded. Winner Elvir Nuhiu took home €200,640 in prize money.
The 2027 PokerStars Open Campione comes with two new developments. The dates are even earlier, as the event will be held from January 8 to 17. And there’s a new buy-in. While the buy-in for the PokerStars Open Prague was just lowered from €1,650 back to €1,100, it appears that stand-alone events will be a bit more expensive.
It will certainly be interesting to see what happens, as the PokerStars Liveroom in Campione has established itself as a popular poker destination after about 1.5 years—a fact recently demonstrated by the spectacular second edition of the PokerStars Sunday Million Live, which drew 5,213 entries and featured a massive prize pool of €1,518,720.
The full tournament schedule for the PokerStars Open Campione is expected to be released soon, and satellites are already running on PokerStars. Campione still has two major events on the horizon through January: the Assopoker Cup in November and ISOP Stage 2 in December.
