Congya Zhang has won the $2,200 Global Poker Championship at the Mediterranean Poker Party for $300,000.
The Mediterranean Poker Party 2026 has been running at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel & Casino since last week. Right at the start came the $2,200 Global Poker Championship. A total of 125 players shared a slice of the $1.9 million prize pool.
Yesterday, the Final Table was played. Congya Zhang secured the title. The Chinese player beat Sergei Petrushevskii ($200,000) in heads‑up play. On the final hand, Petrushevskii shoved preflop all‑in with
and ran into Zhang’s jacks. The board
brought no help.
The win and $300,000 went to Congya Zhang. “Last year, here in Cyprus at the MPP series, I won the Women’s Event. But that was a $100 tournament and more for fun. This time, everything is serious. It’s my biggest cash“, said Zhang in the winner’s interview.
