In September, the next highlight event awaited at the Merit Crystal Cove in Cyprus: the 2026 edition of the Mediterranean Poker Party (MPP). From September 17 to 27, poker will once again be played on Cyprus’s beaches, with the highlight being the $5,400 Main Event featuring a $5,000,000 GTD.
This marks the fourth time the MPP has been held, and it’s set to be another spectacular event. The venue is new, as the Crystal Cove has just been renovated and will host the MPP 2026. The series kicks off with the $2,200 Global Poker Championship ($2,000,000 GTD), followed by the $2,200 Luxon Pay Mystery Bounty ($500,000 GTD) sets the stage for the $3,500 Merit Poker Cup ($1,000,000 GTD).
The action continues seamlessly with the $1,650 Mini Main Event ($500,000 GTD), followed by the actual $5,400 Main Event with a massive $5,000,000 guarantee. To wrap things up, the $3,300 Paradise Mystery Bounty ($500,000 GTD) and the $10,400 Onyx High Roller provide some variety.
In addition to the highlight events, there are several side events, such as the $550 Women’s Championship and the $1,100 Seniors.
Last year, the MPP Main Event attracted an impressive 1,196 entries; after a deal, Daniel Thaller celebrated the victory and $786,670. Although the buy-ins are in the higher price range again this year, as is customary at Merit, we can look forward to large fields.
