WSOP 2026: Philip Sternheimer advances to Day 2 in the $10k Stud 8

75 players made it through Day 1 of the $1,000 Stud Hi-Lo at the World Series of Poker 2026. Matt Grapenthien is in the lead, while Philip Sternheimer is in the midfield.The WSOP 2026 at Horseshoe & Paris Las Vegas kicked off yesterday with the $1,000 Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship (Event #75). This freezeout is scheduled over three days. On the starting day, ten blind levels were played. Players can still register until the first level of Day 2 closes. So far, there are 156 entries, with a prize pool of $1.45 million.For Scott Seiver, Allen Kessler, Nacho Barbero, Brian Rast, Patrick Leonard, Jeff Madsen, David Bach, Max Pescatori, Daniel Negreanu, Joao Vieira, Ben Yu, Jennifer Harman, as well as Max Kruse, Lucas Zwingmann-Gocht, and Sebastian Pauli, the bracelet chase ended prematurely.75 players survived the cut. Matt Grapenthien (322,000) from the USA leads, followed closely by his countryman Bryce Yockey (321,500). Calvin Anderson (7th/253,500) managed to make it into the top 10, while Philip Sternheimer (111,000) will start the next round in 38th position.
