Triton Poker SHR Montenegro: Leon Sturm Becomes the Bubble Boy in the $25k 8-Handed Event

The money bubble has burst in the $1,000 NLH 8-handed Event #2 of the Triton Super High Roller Series Montenegro at the Maestral Resort & Casino; Leon Sturm was eliminated on the bubble. Aleks Ponakovs leads 20 players into the final today.The second event of the Triton SHR Montenegro Series drew 119 entries (83/36), resulting in a prize pool of $1,975,000. The top 20 places were paid, with $1,000 as the minimum cash prize and $1,000 up for grabs for the winner. Players returned to the tables with 250,000 chips and 30-minute levels, and once again, numerous players from the DACH region were in the mix. However, Tom Fuchs, Tobias Schwecht, Klemens Roiter, Leonard Maue, Christopher Nguyen, Daniel Rezaei, Christoph Vogelsang, Matthias Eibinger, Thomas Mühlöcker, Samuel Ju, Sebastian Gähl, and Matthias Lipp had already been eliminated. They were in prominent company; Ben Tollerene, Alex and Kristen Foxen, Mustapha Kanit, Jean-Noel Thorel, Jesse Lonis, and many others had also already been eliminated.Eighteen levels were scheduled, and by that point, the field was already closing in on the money. In a double-seat open, the bubble was set to burst. Paulius Plausinaitis went all-in ultra-short with , Leon Sturm with , and Alejandro Lococo held . The board ran , and with trips, Alejandro Lococo eliminated both of them. As a result, Leon Sturm went home empty-handed as the bubble boy in Event #2.The remaining 20 players are guaranteed the min-cash of $1,000. Aleks Ponakovs is the chip leader with 2,545,000 chips, and Alejandro Lococo secured second place with 2,095,000 after winning the bubble pot. Hannes Jeschka, who had been eliminated on the bubble in Event #1 had been eliminated on the bubble, managed to make it to the final here; he is in 11th place with 950,000. Mario Mosböck is short-stacked with 600k and is in 17th place.
