Following the 2026 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, Shaun Deeb sits at the top of the WSOP Player of the Year race. However, Naoya Kihara and William Foxen are hot on the American’s heels.
Over the course of seven weeks, a total of 100 WSOP bracelets were awarded at the Horseshoe & Paris Las Vegas. Most of the events were qualifying tournaments for the leaderboard, which determines the “Player of the Year” at the end of the year.
Shaun Deeb (pictured) leads the standings with 3,410 points. Deeb had a successful run. The American claimed his ninth WSOP title in the $1,500 8-Game event. He also finished as runner-up in the $3,000 Nine-Game event and placed 15th in the $10,000 Main Event.
However, the race is far from over, as more qualifying tournaments await players at the WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas. We won’t know who will be named WSOP Player of the Year until December.
Naoya Kihara (3,388 points; pictured right) and William Foxen (3,381 points; pictured left) currently hold second and third place, respectively. Kihara secured two bracelets this summer, finished third twice, and reached two additional final tables. Foxen won the $10k Super Turbo Bounty and also made it to five other final tables.
Shaun Deeb could make WSOP history if he wins the title. He would be the first three-time Player of the Year and the first back-to-back winner. In addition to the title, a Paradise Package worth $100,000 awaits the winner. In total, the top 100 will receive prizes worth $1,000,000.
