King’s: Romanian Sweep at the FiftyStack Opener

Three Romanians ultimately split the €150 Fiftystack Opener (€50,000 GTD) at the Euro Poker Million at King’s Resort Rozvadov; winner Giani Munteanu took home €6,480.

As always, there were Turbo Flights and Flips yesterday, July 16, before Day 2 began. With an additional 154 entries, the prize pool guarantee was easily met; after deducting the 16% fee, the 404 entries resulted in a prize pool of €50,904.

Players had already made it into the money during the starting days, so the 42 finalists had already secured €345 when the final began later that afternoon. €8,900 awaited the winner, but the final three players agreed to a deal. After TierParkToni, the top German player, was eliminated in 3rd place (€3,125), it was already clear that there would be a Romanian victory. It was Giani Munteanu who ultimately claimed the victory and €6,480; Catalin Diac (€5,351) and Munteanu Jr. (€7,944, including a €1,150 ticket) rounded out the Romanian sweep.

Today at 2:00 p.m., the €590 EuroPokerMillion Main Event (€3,000,000 GTD, including 15 x €3k King’s Million EPC packages) kicks off with the slow-start Day 1A. There are 60,000 chips and 80-minute levels; eight levels will be played. On Sunday, Day 1AB begins, with late registration still open for two levels.

Also starting today is the two-day €300 PLO (€20,000 GTD/40k/40′) begins today, and the €20 DreamMaker VI (€20,000 GTD, including 1 €1,150 KM EPC ticket/15k/30′) is also on the schedule. And in the evening, the €130 Friday Night Turbo (€15,000 GTD/15k/20′) will provide entertainment. As always, the cash games start with blinds of €1/2 NLH and €2/2 PLO.
