WSOP 2026: Tobias Hausen with a strong start in the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

Tobias Hausen had an excellent start in the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better (#21) at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2026 in Horseshoe & Paris Las Vegas, securing 5th place.The WSOP saw an increase compared to last year with 910 entries in 2025; this year there were 1,093 entries, resulting in a prize pool of $1,450,957.50. On Day 1, 15 levels of 40 minutes each were completed, and despite many split pots, the players were very close to the 164 money spots.Only 173 players remained, with Thomas Zanot leading (485,000) just ahead of Jordan Polk (483,000). Tobias Hausen, the best German, is in 5th place (409,000), while Dennis Weiss is also well positioned for Day 2 with 291,000 chips. Martin Schamaun comes back with 108,000 (ranked 110).Day 2 starts with blinds at 3k/6k/6k, effectively right on the bubble, with only nine players going home empty-handed. A min-cash awaits at $1,033, while the winner can look forward to $1,377.
