The WPT Prime Taiwan will return to the Asia Poker Arena of the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Association in Taipei in early 2027. The festival will take place from January 2 to 11 and will be headlined by the WPT Prime Taiwan Championship, featuring a buy-in of 35,000 Taiwan dollars and a prize pool guarantee of 30 million Taiwan dollars. The World Poker Tour has now released the detailed tournament schedule for WPT Prime Taiwan 2027. In addition to the Main Event, which features a prize pool of approximately $1 million, the schedule includes numerous side events, high rollers, satellites, and various poker formats.
The highlight is the WPT Prime Taiwan Championship, taking place from January 7 to 11, 2027. The tournament costs 35,000 TWD—equivalent to about $1,100—and offers a guaranteed prize pool of 30 million TWD, which is roughly $1 million. The action of the WPT Prime Taiwan kicks off on the very first weekend of the festival with the New Year Opener. Blind levels last 20 or 25 minutes, depending on the flight.
On Saturday, January 2, the schedule also includes a PLO Warm-up, the New Year Mini High Roller, and the first Championship Warm-up flight. In addition, there will be a Megastack Turbo and a Hyper Turbo. Sunday’s schedule includes, among other events, the second day of the New Year Opener, a Turbo Mini High Roller, and additional Championship Warm-up flights.
An important part of the early festival schedule is the Championship Warm-up. The tournament features a prize pool guarantee of two million TWD and offers multiple starting days. The buy-in is 12,000 TWD, and the starting stack is 40,000 chips. Blind levels vary between 25 and 40 minutes, depending on the flight.
The lineup is rounded out by satellites through which players can qualify for the Warm-up. The satellites cost 2,500 TWD and start with 10,000 chips. On Sunday, January 3, the Mystery Bounty program also begins. The Mystery Bounty satellite has a buy-in of 2,500 TWD. The actual Mystery Bounty tournament begins on Monday, January 4, with a guaranteed prize pool of two million TWD. The buy-in is 12,000 TWD, and the starting stack is 30,000 chips.
Even beyond the major NLH tournaments, the schedule offers plenty of variety. The published schedule includes, among other things, a Mixed Triple Draw featuring A-5, 2-7, and Badugi; a Seniors event for players aged 50 and older; PLO variants, as well as additional turbo and high-roller tournaments. For high-roller players, various events with buy-ins of 44,000 and 55,000 TWD are scheduled.
