The World Poker Tour (WPT) is back in Europe and is celebrating WPT Cyprus at the Chamada Prestige in Cyprus with a $5,000,000 festival. The $3,100 + 400 WPT Championship Event comes with a $2,000,000 guarantee.
After the WPT Prime was postponed at the last minute in March, it’s already been a year since the WPT last visited Cyprus. While the Prime Event will be rescheduled for October, the Championship Event is returning as usual in August—and they’re really going all out again. A varied schedule has once again been put together around the $3,500 WPT Championship Event. The $1,500 + 150 Take-Off will kick things off with a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool, followed by the $2,000 + 200 Mystery Bounty, which comes with a $600,000 GTD.
The next highlight is the $5,000 + 300 Chamada High Roller ($500,000 GTD), before the WPT Championship Event ($2,000,000 GTD) kicks off on August 19. There will be three starting days, with Day 2 beginning on August 22. The winner will be determined by August 24. In addition to the Main Event, other attractions drawing players to the tables include the $1,000 + 100 Bounty, the $1,000 + 100 Mystery Bounty, and the $7,500 + 500 Chamdas Super High Roller ($300,000 GTD). The final highlight event is the $2,000 + 200 Last Chance NLH ($150,000 GTD).
The Chamada Prestige is also very popular among many players from Israel, Turkey, and Southeast Europe, but many German-speaking players are regular guests as well. Most recently, in the spring, Frank Koopmann secured victory in the replacement event for the WPT Prime. Last year, the $3,500 WPT Championship Event attracted 775 entries, easily surpassing the $2,000,000 guarantee.
