A festival in Malta is turning into a full-fledged tour. Battle of Malta will make its debut in Barcelona and Tallinn in 2027, and the Card Casino Samorin near Bratislava is back on the tour schedule, as are, of course, the two stops at Casino Malta.
The Battle of Malta has already established a long tradition. The first edition took place in 2012, and in 2014, the number of entries surpassed the one-million mark for the first time. Since 2022, there have been both a Spring and an Autumn edition, with the traditional fall edition being significantly larger. With 5,368 entries this year, a new record wasn’t set, but the prize pool still exceeded €2,400,000.
In September, the festival went on tour for the first time and celebrated a successful premiere at the Card Casino Samorin near Bratislava. With 1,510 entries, the prize pool exceeded €380,000, marking the completion of the first international stop. In 2027, the brand will expand into a full-fledged tour. The tour will make its first stop at Casino Barcelona from January 20 to 24, before the major Spring Edition returns to Casino Malta from May 21 to June 2. From June 14 to 21, the tour heads back to the Card Casino Samorin.
Then comes the summer break; in the fall, the grand Autumn Edition will, of course, be held at Casino Malta, followed by another premiere. From December 14 to 19, the tournament will take place for the first time at the Olympic Park Casino in Estonia.
