Save the date. The 2027 Aussie Millions Poker Championship runs from 8 to 24 April. The host is the iconic Crown Melbourne.
The Aussie Millions is a legendary poker festival, not just down under. The first event took place in 1998, back then as an A$1,000 Limit Hold’em Tournament. Alex Horowitz won the title and A$25,900 in prize money. After the Moneymaker boom, the Aussie Millions became a firm fixture on the poker calendar.
Things changed. The global pandemic hit live poker hard. The 2021 Aussie Millions were postponed, and the following year Crown Melbourne moved away from tournament poker. That lasted until 2026, when the legendary series made its comeback.
Now the Aussie Millions is set to return again next year. After the popular series was held for the first time in April following a long break, Crown Melbourne has now confirmed the dates for 2027. Further details are still to come.
Big changes to the schedule aren’t expected. This year’s Aussie Millions featured 18 events, with buy-ins ranging from A$1,500 to A$25,000. The highlight was the A$10,000 Main Event. Total prize money came to A$7.7 million. In the end, Malcolm Trayner took the win and walked away with A$1.38 million.
