From September 28 to October 27, 2026, the DeepStack Showdown is currently running at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. The tournament series offers nearly one million U.S. dollars in guaranteed prize money. Event #08, the $300 No-Limit Hold’em tournament with a $100,000 guarantee, was one of the highlights of the DeepStack Showdown and was won by veteran U.S. poker player Kathy Liebert.
436 entries created a prize pool of $104,640, slightly exceeding the guarantee. All nine final table participants ultimately finished in the money. The minimum cash prize was $1,963. Kathy Liebert also entered the final table with a clear chip lead. And the 59-year-old went on to eliminate several opponents herself. Among them were Ronnie Lamb (9th place for $1,963), Mohamed Serry (5th place for $5,470), and Anonymus (4th place for $7,318).
In heads-up play, the WSOP bracelet winner faced off against Jeff Yarchever. Her opponent went all-in with 5♠5♣ on the final hand. Liebert called with A♦8♦. And the flop of 6♣3♥9♠ initially looked good for Yarchever. But the turn and river—A♣ and 4♦—ultimately ended the tournament. Liebert took home $18,124 for first place. Yarchever had to settle for $14,500.
Kathy Liebert is one of the most famous female players in the poker world and can look back on numerous successes in major live tournament series. Her tournament winnings total more than seven million U.S. dollars. Liebert celebrated one of her greatest successes in 2002, when she won the PartyPoker Million on a cruise ship. For that, she received one million U.S. dollars. With this triumph, she made poker history: Liebert was among the first women to win a seven-figure prize at a major poker tournament. Another milestone followed two years later. At the 2004 World Series of Poker (WSOP), Liebert won the $1,500 Limit Hold’em Shootout and took home $110,180. Liebert also made a name for herself at the WSOP Main Event, finishing in 17th place in 1998.
Following the conclusion of the DeepStack Showdown, The Venetian is already hosting its next major poker festival: the WPT Venetian Fall Festival, running from October 28 through November 15. More information can be found on The Venetian’s website and on the Venetian Blog.
