Poker photos beyond the WSOP tunnel vision

Every summer, Las Vegas becomes the center of the poker universe.Thousands of players arrive with the dream of a bracelet, life-changing wins, and unforgettable stories. Media teams, photographers, bloggers, and content creators spread across the casino floors, all focused on the action at the tables. And rightly so.This year, I am also back on site. I’m playing cash games and exploring Las Vegas as usual. The poker summer in Sin City has been part of my yearly program since 2015. However, this time, my goal is not to document the WSOP itself, but to capture poker photos from Las Vegas during the WSOP.I spend long days in the casinos just like everyone else. But after more than a month in Nevada, I increasingly felt drawn to something else.+++ A change in perspectiveJust as one creates new perspectives with different lenses and camera settings, I have also adjusted my mental approaches a bit. While a large part of the poker world is fully focused on the WSOP grind, I wanted to occasionally lift my gaze.Instead of solely focusing on player portraits and tournament results, I find myself increasingly interested in everything that surrounds the game: the atmosphere in the poker rooms, the changing face of the casinos, and the life in between. Observing people takes on a whole new dimension when you focus on the crowds in the hallways and the busy streets. It’s about the feeling of Las Vegas during the busiest poker time of the year.Poker results tell us who won. I try to show where it happened and what it looked like there.+++ Creating memoriesIn a few years, a tournament report might remind us of a final table. A photo of a crowded corridor, an empty poker room at sunrise, or a bustling casino floor can instead remind us of how it actually felt to be here. These poker photos document less individual moments, but preserve the atmosphere around them. As a reminder, as a chronicle. The poker rooms, the casinos, the people who come and go, and the special energy that takes hold of Las Vegas every summer. That’s exactly the perspective I’m trying to capture this year. Not from the center of the limelight, but from the second row and with a slightly wider angle. As a visual chronicle of the places, people, and moods that make the poker summer in Vegas much more than just a list of results.+++ A little piece of Vegas every dayNew Vegas updates appear daily on PokerExklusiv.com: https://pokerexclusive.com/?s=vegasRegularly, new photo albums are published on the Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/PokerExklusiv/photos_albumsFor more poker stories and lifestyle content about the scene, it’s also worth checking out the PokerExklusiv lifestyle page as well as the blog of THE-ROUNDERdotnet.
