Poker is very popular in Cyprus, and from February 19 to 28, 2027, the Grand Sapphire Poker Festival will make its debut. The new festival is organized by German players with a strong network across Europe, so you can look forward to ten days of nonstop poker action at the tournament and cash game tables.
A varied tournament schedule, a top-tier resort as the venue, and—for Cyprus—a moderate rake cap—the conditions for the Grand Sapphire Poker Festival are excellent. Ten days, ten tournaments. Buy-ins range from $200 + 20 to $1,000 + 100. It’s not just No-Limit Hold’em—far from it. The most expensive tournaments are the $1,000 + 100 Mystery Bounty with four starting days and the $1,000 + 100 5-Card Omaha with two flights. Also on the schedule are the $800 + 80 7-Card Stud Trophy and the $800 + 80 4-Card Omaha Masters, each with two flights.
Sviten, HORSE, and Dealer’s Choice PL OHS are also on the tournament schedule, and of course, the action games Win The Button, All-in or Fold, and Bomb Pot are not to be missed. If you like variety, you’ll find it here.
Not only is the tournament schedule impressive, but so is the Grand Sapphire Hotel Resort. This luxury resort in Iskele leaves nothing to be desired. In addition to the all-inclusive option, there are various other, more affordable choices available. The resort is about 1.5 hours from Larnaca Airport and is located right on the sea. Even though February isn’t swimming season, you can still enjoy a relaxing vacation and, above all, the hotel’s amenities.
There’s plenty of action at the cash game tables, too. Games start at $5/5, and the rake cap of $100 is very moderate by Cypriot standards. Organizers have already reached out to numerous agents in Europe and built a strong network for the festival.
