Yesterday, October 18, Sandra Naujoks hosted the WPF Ladies Event at the Grand Casino Liechtenstein (GCLI). A three-way deal decided the outcome of the CHF 200 Ladies Event, with “Der Fishflüsterer” taking home the victory.
Even before the players took their seats at the poker tables, the GCLI team had prepared a brunch for a cozy get-together. Of course, a group photo was a must:
The Ladies Tournament itself had a buy-in of CHF 200 and was offered rake-free. With 40,000 chips and 30-minute levels, there was plenty of room to play, and a prize pool of CHF 5,000 was guaranteed. The prize pool guarantee was easily exceeded, with 29 ladies taking their seats at the tables, plus an additional twelve re-entries. The Herzdamen Club was represented, as was the Wicked Alliance, and of course the Swiss Poker Ladies were well represented as well. Sandra Naujoks had gotten everyone to the tables, and so the action began in a lively atmosphere with a prize pool of CHF 8,200 and five cash places.
There were familiar faces at the final table as well:
The winner would have received CHF 3,030, but a deal was struck on the bubble. Charlene—who, along with Sandra from Portugal, likely had the longest journey from the far north of Germany—was set to benefit from it. When only three players remained, another deal was struck, and ultimately “Der Fischflüsterer” walked away as the winner with CHF 1,850 and the trophy. The two GCLI regulars, Angelika Good Mathies (3rd/CHF 2,300) and Kathrin Wolfinger (2nd/CHF 2,005), rounded out the podium.
Upcoming ladies’ events can be found at King’s or at the CAPT Million at Casino Baden, but action at the GCLI continues as early as Thursday with the CHF 95 + 15 Deepstack (CHF 3,000 GTD/40k/20′). Cash games are available daily starting at CHF 1/3 NLH and CHF 2/2 PLO.
