From Champion to Bubble Boy. Event #6 of the Poker Masters at the PokerGO Studio at Aria Las Vegas was another $10,000 NLH event, and right after his victory in Event #5, Adrian Mateos once again came up empty-handed on the bubble. Sean Winter is the chip leader heading into the final table.
The field for the sixth event was slightly smaller again; with 64 entries, the prize pool totaled $640,000. The top 10 were guaranteed a cash prize, with the minimum cash prize set at $19,200. The bubble burst in a 3-way pot: Adrian Mateos was all-in with
, Robert Corlian had
, and Justin Vaysman held 7s. The board didn’t help, the two short stacks were eliminated, and Justin Vaysman came close to hitting the million-mark.
Michael Berk then immediately claimed the min-cash, while Andrew Lichtenberger lost a bad flip with tens against Tony Gregg’s
. Gregg also prevented two queens from making it to the final table. With kings, Gregg eliminated Cherish Andrews, who held
, and the final seven players were eliminated shortly thereafter.
Sean Winter had secured a narrow lead over Victoria Livschitz with 1,405,000 chips. Everyone has now secured $25,600, and the winner can look forward to $192,000. Today is a rest day; the final will take place tomorrow. Play will resume with blinds at 20k/40k/40k.
