The Asian Poker Tour is one of the longest-running and largest poker tournament series in the Asia-Pacific region. The tour was founded in 2006 and has been hosting international poker festivals at various locations across Asia ever since. The APT has now announced the first dates for its 2027 poker season. The APT continues to focus on locations that have already established themselves as key stops on the Asian poker calendar in recent years.
The first published schedule includes four so-called “Marquee Stops.” Two of them will take place on Jeju Island in South Korea, and two more in Taipei, Taiwan. The first highlight of the new year is already on the schedule for January. From January 22 to 31, 2027, the Asian Poker Tour will make a stop on the South Korean island of Jeju. The ten-day festival will take place at Les A Casino in Jeju Shinhwa World.
The centerpiece is the APT Main Event with a buy-in of 2.2 million KRW, which is equivalent to approximately $1,600. Even more impressive is the guarantee: The Main Event guarantees 2.2 billion KRW, also around $1.6 million. The flights begin on January 24 with Flight A. Flight B follows on January 25, before two more starting flights are offered on January 26. The tournament then continues over several days of play leading up to the final day on January 30.
Following the season opener in South Korea, the APT will move on to Taiwan in the spring. The APT Taipei 2027 will take place from April 21 to May 3, spanning a total of 13 days. After the spring edition in Taiwan, the APT will return to Jeju in the fall. The APT Jeju 2027 is scheduled for October 1–10, 2027. This means the South Korean island will host a major APT festival twice within a single year.
The APT Championship 2027 rounds out the currently announced schedule. The Championship festival will be held in Taipei from November 12 to 28, 2027, spanning 17 days. The highlight will be the APT Championship Main Event with a buy-in of $10,000. In addition to the Championship Main Event, the festival will also feature the well-known APT Lion Trophy events.
After setting new records with eight consecutive tour stops, the APT is heading into the 2027 season with significant momentum. For the coming year, the organizer once again expects thousands of players from more than 50 countries and regions. The upward trend in prize pools is also expected to continue. Throughout the season, prize pools totaling several billion in the respective national currencies are set to be awarded.
According to the APT, the complete tournament schedules, structures, and online satellite information for the individual festivals will be published at a later date. Additional events will, of course, be announced over the coming months. Detailed information is regularly available on the Asian Poker Tour website.
