Poker for a good cause. Russell Westbrook’s The Why Not? Foundation Poker Night at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas was a massive success.
Stars, celebrities, and poker fans gathered for the Sixth Annual Why Not? Foundation Poker Night in Las Vegas. The $10,000 buy‑in gave participants the chance to rub shoulders with famous poker players like Phil Ivey, Michael Mizrachi, Maria Ho, and Alan Keating. DeAndre Jordan, Harrison Barnes, and Princess Love were also at the tables.
Drea Renee and Vince Van Patten hosted the tournament. In the end, the title went to poker pro Michail Grigorev. But the real winners are the children supported by the Why Not? Foundation. A total of $912,500 in donations was collected.
“This is the biggest night of the year for everything we do. It pays for the school, for the kids’ camp we run every July, for Thanksgiving meals in South Los Angeles, and for families in Altadena still rebuilding after the fire.
We have kids who first came to camp when they were four years old who are teenagers now and still coming back. That’s what means the most to me. We get to be part of their lives and watch them grow. Why not,” said Russell Westbrook in a press release.
