The Irish Poker Open Sydney 2026 runs from 31 August to 14 September. There are 42 events on the schedule.
The Club Marconi Poker Palace might not be well known in Europe, but it’s the top spot in Australia. The poker room sits in Bossley, a Sydney suburb. Cards have been dealt there since 2008. It has also hosted bigger series like the Marconi Cup Carnival and the Australian Poker Open.
But the Irish Open International Sydney aims to put Club Marconi on the global map too. Buy-ins range from A$200 to A$10,000. The new tour kicks off with the A$360 Mini Irish Open, which has A$500.000 guaranteed. There are eleven flights in total, with a decision on Day 2.
Alongside No-Limit Hold’em, the schedule includes the Mixed 8 Game Championship, the Big O Championship, the Sviten Special Championship, PLO, Deuce-to-Seven Triple Draw, 4/5/6 Card PLO, and the A$2,000 High Roller 8 Game Championship. Apart from the High Roller, those buy-ins are A$600 each.
The A$2,000 Irish Open Main Event has six starting days, with two flights played as Turbo. Satellites are available on site for A$250. The prize pool is guaranteed at one million Australian dollars.
The Irish Poker Open is legendary and has been running since 1980. In poker history, only the World Series of Poker beats that tradition. But the Irish Open International concept is completely new. In April, three stops were announced for the series: the USA, Morocco, and Australia.
