The World Poker Tour returns to the Commerce Casino & Hotel. After a long break, the $10,000 WPT LAPC Championship will be played in 2027.
The WPT LA Poker Classic Championship is an iconic tournament. It was first played in 2003. The legendary Gus Hansen took the win and $532,490 in prize money.
The Great Dane was followed by famous names such as Antonio Esfandiari (2004), Michael Mizrachi (2005), Phil Ivey (2008), Chris Moorman (2014), Anthony Zinno (2015), and David “ODB” Baker (2019).
Since 2020, however, the World Poker Tour has no longer been at the LA Poker Classic. The $10k Championship continued to be held, but the turnout didn’t impress. With only 50 entries, a negative record was set this year.
Now the return of the $10,000 WPT LAPC Championship has been announced. The WPT LAPC Festival runs from 15 January to 7 March, with the Championship from 26 February to 3 March. To fill the tables, there will be satellites and promotions in advance.
The schedule for the WPT LA Poker Classic Festival hasn’t been announced yet. But for the 25th season of the World Poker Tour, the series is set to become a special experience. “The LAPC holds an incredibly important place in the history of the World Poker Tour.
Our partnership with The Commerce Hotel & Casino helped create countless memorable moments over the years, and we are proud to return in Season 25 and build upon that remarkable legacy together,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska in a press release.
