An unfortunate end to a summer grind. Jared Griener was robbed by two strangers in Las Vegas. His poker bankroll is gone.
“Last night, after I was knocked out of the Closer, I picked up my payouts from the summer and drove back to my Airbnb. When I walked through the front door, two men were there; they immediately tackled me to the ground, tied me up, and took my backpack containing my entire bankroll. What the hell!” was the poker pro’s brief comment on Twitter.

After the robbery, the American turned to his neighbors to call the police. The local TV station KSNV News 3 Las Vegas has since released the surveillance camera footage.

Jared Griener finished in the money in four events at the 2026 WSOP, including a deep run in the Main Event, which he finished in 218th place for $57,500. Jared Griener did not share all the details. When asked, however, the poker pro stated that authorities are investigating the case.
